Cytokines really should not be expressed in SI or any other molecular or
weight-based units because preparations can vary in activity. They should
be expressed in units of biological activity (but no harm in giving weight
information additionally).

Hi J.,
Conversion of molar to mass-based concentration scales and vice versa depend
on the molecular weight of the molecule in question - it's basic chemistry
class, just like the 'ole highschool "weight out enough salt to make up 1
liter of 0.25M NaCl solution" exercises.
Therefore, there cannot be a direct 'universal conversion factor' for all
cytokines.

Does anyone know what the conversion of conventional units to SI units is
for cytokines?
e.g. What is 23 pg/mL of IL-2 ? Is it 23 pmol/L? Is there some kind of
conversion factor?
