Dear Flow Community,
Please SAVE this date Oct. 19-21, 2011 in Oeiras (close to Lisbon)!

The Flow Cytometry Core at Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência has invited
FloCyte Regional Training Program to present a 3 day Comprehensive Flow
Cytometry course to be held in Oeiras, PORTUGAL, Oct. 19-21, 2011.

The Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC) is one of the leading life science
research centers in Portugal. With the mission to carry out biomedical
research and training, the IGC currently acts as a host institution to
international research groups, providing state-of-the-art Flow Cytometry and
other research facilities in a stimulating environment. Indeed, for the
second year in a row, IGC was considered one of the top 10 international
institutions to work outside the US, according to the annual survey of The
Scientist. Certainly not unrelated, is the beautiful location of IGC in the
outskirts of Lisbon, 5 minutes away from the sunny beaches facing the
Atlantic Ocean, offering a relaxing and productive environment for
scientific learning and discussion.

For those who aren't familiar with FloCyte's Comprehensive Flow Cytometry
course, this course is configured to give the attendees the maximum benefit
in the most efficient manner, with 4 options for registration, depending on
your level of flow experience from novice to experienced user! You can
attend all three days for the most comprehensive training, just the first 2
days for a simple, basic understanding of flow for those doing 2-3 colors
only, the last 2 days for those with intermediate amount of experience (at
least 2 years) but who need more understanding of compensation and
multiparameter design, or the 4th options, the last day only, for those
experienced cytometrists who want to keep current with the latest
experimental design ideas! Although this is not technically a hands-on
course, we will have instruments there all three days, for demonstration and
interactive workstations for 'activities'! You won't just listen to
lectures! Prices are affordable also! Contact Susan DeMaggio at
FloCyte at FloCyte.org for information on the pricing. (a late fee will be
added after the early registration deadline, Sept 30. )

If you want to get more out of your flow cytometry, this course is an
excellent opportunity for you, brought right to us here in our institution!
Please go to www.FloCyte.org under the training pull down menu to find more
information on the contents of the course. Registration will be open for
this course in June, but you can 'save the date' and your space by
pre-registering today. Contact Sue DeMaggio for more information at
flocyte at flocyte.org .

Looking forward to seeing you there.
