We are undertaking to try to look at some proteins by FACS (either surface or ICS), for which there are only monoclonals that have been used for western blotting (WB), or mAbs for immunoprecipitation (IP). Does anyone have data (or experience) to suggest that antibodies that work for WB are more or less likely to work than antibodies used for IP, in a phenotyping experiment? (We would used second step to reveal, or if available, avidin for biotinylated reagents).
