Research Triangle Cytometry Association
Meeting Announcement

New Molecular Probes for Imaging and Flow Cytometry; Monitoring Cell
Cycle, Oxidative Stress, Death Pathways and Toxicity in Living Cells

Wayne F. Patton, Ph.D.
Chief Scientific Officer
Enzo Life Sciences
Farmingdale, NY

Thursday, July 23
9:00 A.M. ? 12:00 P.M.

Room 521
The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences
(Formerly CIIT)
6 Davis Drive
Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Proprietary fluorescent molecular probes will be described that have been
optimized for a range of functional response assays in fluorescence
microscopy and flow cytometry, including apoptosis/necrosis analysis,
reactive oxygen species generation, mitochondrial dysfunction, nuclear
condensation, DNA ploidy, cell cycle dynamics and cell viability. The
described molecular probes and corresponding assays have been configured
to allow for optimization of experimental conditions using conventional
fluorescence microscopy, then seamless integration into standard flow
cytometry workflows, without the requirement of additional esoteric laser
sources. Many of the assay combinations allow true multiplexed capability
with green fluorescent protein (GFP).

Directions to The Hamner Institutes
>From Raleigh (RDU Airport):
Take I-40 West to Exit 280 (Davis Drive).
At the end of exit, turn right onto Davis Drive. CIIT is the second
building on the left.

>From Durham:
Take NC-147 South (Durham Freeway) to Exit 6 (Cornwallis Road).
At end of exit, turn left and proceed to Davis Drive. At Davis Drive, turn
right. Building is second entrance on the right.

Parking is in the back of the building. Enter through the back door and
sign the visitor log. A sign will direct you to the conference room.

The RTCA gratefully acknowledges Enzo Life Sciences for providing
refreshments.
