Research Assistants
BN-ImmunoTherapeutics (BNIT) is seeking highly motivated Research
Assistants with expertise in preclinical immunology/tumor models and
immune monitoring assays, respectively. 

BNIT was recently founded as a subsidiary of Bavarian-Nordic (http://www
<http://www/> .bavarian-nordic.com) <http://nordic.com/)> . We are
located in Mountain View, CA and are developing active immunotherapies
for cancer.

Job Description

Preclinical immunology/tumor models

As an integral member of BNIT research team, the qualified candidate
will be responsible for conducting preclinical immunogenicity and
activity studies in support of cancer immunotherapy products. The
candidate is expected to assist in the design and execution of these
studies, as well as in the preparation, analysis and presentation of the
results. Other responsibilities include day to day operation for
laboratory maintenance and organization.

 

Immune monitoring assays
The candidate will conduct complex cellular immunology assays. The
incumbent will be responsible for processing and analyzing clinical
trial samples, data analysis and presentation. Other responsibilities
include day to day operation for laboratory maintenance and
organization.

 

Requirements
Preclinical immunology/tumor models

A degree in life sciences with at least 1 year of relevant experience
that includes tumor model studies, cell culture, immunoassays (ELISA,
ELISpot), and FACS operation. Previous experience in
oncology/immunotherapy models desired, but not required. Additional
expertise in standard techniques of molecular biology and/or
biochemistry is a plus. 


Immune monitoring assays
The candidate must possess a BS/MS degree and a minimum of two-five
years of research experience. The candidate must be able to strictly
adhere to multiple standard operating procedures (SOPs) which include
conducting clinical studies in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices
(GLP). Previous experience in industry is highly desirable. Good
knowledge and technical expertise in the following fields is required:
FACS operation, immunoassays such as ELISPOT and ELISA, human primary
cell culture, and processing human blood samples. 

 

The candidates should be organized and detail-oriented, possess
excellent record-keeping and communication skills, and demonstrate
flexibility to work in a start-up environment.
