Grans can be separated out using Ficoll-Hypaque with 1.088 specific gravity.
 The PBS diluted blood would be layered over the ficoll-hypaque and
centrifuged at 250g (at the buffer F-H interface) for 20-25 minutes..

Sigma used to carry that density, but I don't know whether they do any more.

I try to remember a simple gravity sedimentation method for blood to get
granulocyte rich white blood cell reparations. It worked by just
layering I think PBS diluted blood over a density gradient and allowing
the blood to settle whilst standing on the bench. As there was no
pre-mixing with dextran it minimised activation. Unfortunately I did not
keep any records about it but I . Anyone got any comments or memories of
it? I might have even discussed it over the Purdue server but could not
find any record.
