Job Opening - Flow Cytometry Manager/Operator
The University of Missouri-Columbia Cell and Immunobiology Core (CIC)
Facility has an immediate opening for a Flow Cytometry Facility
Manager/Operator. This position involves cell sorting, analysis,
trouble shooting, training, and various administrative duties associated
with the operation of the facility.
The facility is outfitted with a FACS Vantage Flow Cytometer and a
FACScan Benchtop Analyzer.
The CIC facility (http://biotech.Missouri.edu/cic
<http://biotech.missouri.edu/cic> ) is the sole provider for these
services on the MU campus and is part of the Campus Life Sciences Core
Facilities. MU is one of 34 public US universities in the AAU and is
designated as "Doctoral/Research Extensive" by the Carnegie Foundation.
This land grant university has a School of Medicine and a School of
Veterinary Medicine. MU ranks as the fastest growing public university
in federal funding.
Columbia, Missouri is a beautiful college town that offers excellent

Proficient with BD Biosciences flow cytometry systems including Cell
Working knowledge of cell sorting, specifically FACS Vantage, and
analysis with three color FACScan.
Able to troubleshoot equipment and software
Able to evaluate new assays and equipment
Assist with analysis and interpretation of data.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
Personnel training and maintenance of quality control records.
Strong writing and oral presentation skills
Applicants with 3-5 years experience with flow cytometry, experience in
a supervisory capacity, and some understanding of cell biology will be
preferred. A commensurate salary is negotiable. Candidates should
