OK  flowers,  I cannot resist.  I don't care one way or the other about use of
the term "FACS"  but I am vaguely offended when I see the acronym translated as
"fluorescent activated cell sorter."  The sorter may be activated,  but it is
not fluorescent and doesn't glow green or red or pink. "Fluorescence-activated
cell sorter" is correct and the obligatory  hyphen means that the sorter is
activated by fluorescence.
