Apoptosis detection kits (commercially available)

Has anyone had any experience with the commercially available apoptosis
detection kits to the extent that they can recommend one over the others?
Also, I recently saw an article where apoptosis was detected simply
using propidium iodide and looking for hypodiploidy - is that "just as
good" or is it recommended only if you can't afford the kit prices and/or
don't have access to other reagents?
Please send any replies directly to me. Thanks.
