Quantifying LIVE CELLS

A good viable cell label is Fluorescein diacetate.  It is taken up by 
live cells, broken down inside the cells by nonspecific esterases, at 
which point it becomes fluorescent.  I use a stock solution of 1mg/ml and 
use 10ul per ml of cells.
