PurdueQPRGatekeepers -- List for Purdue faculty, staff and students trained as QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeepers

About PurdueQPRGatekeepers
English (USA)

QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer, an emergency mental health gatekeeper training intervention that teaches lay and professional gatekeepers to recognize and respond positively to someone exhibiting suicide warning signs and behaviors. Like CPR, QPR uses a “chain of survival” approach in which the gatekeeper learns to recognize early suicide warning signs, Question their meaning to determine suicide intent or desire, Persuade the person to accept or seek help, and Refer the person to appropriate resources. A very special thank you to the Purdue Parents Advisory Board ‘Big Give’ Grant for making it possible to provide this training free of charge to our campus community!

Faculty, Staff and Students who have attended the 2 hour training are certified QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeepers.

This listserv will serve Purdue QPR Gatekeepers by sharing follow up resources and events occurring on and off campus that support suicide prevention and awareness.
